Twitter Starts Deleting Accounts That Have Been Inactive For Several Years

Elon Musk today stated that Twitter has started deleting accounts that have been inactive or inactive for several years. With this step, it will simultaneously open up other users to get a username for their account.

In addition, at the same time Elon Musk stated that this may also have an impact on the number of accounts that follow a user - because old accounts are deleted and will reduce the number of followers for an account.

Previously, Elon Musk had shared that there are around 1.5 billion inactive accounts and related usernames may be offered to other users. However, the process for it is still unknown whether it will be free or Elon Musk will sell the new usernames in the form of an auction - like Telegram did.

This move may also indirectly attract non-Twitter users to sign in and make their accounts active, thereby preventing their usernames from being given to others.
