Recently, Oppo has announced that they will stop the development of their own chip design, thus leading to various questions regarding the smartphone industry and the production of their own chips exclusively and specifically. Touching on it, Xiaomi has now once again emphasized that they will continue the development of their chips.
Xiaomi was previously ready with the Surge chip in 2017, and was quiet for a while before also introducing its own image processing chip in 2021. Touching on that too, Xiaomi said they learned lessons from the past, and stated that the development of this standalone chip is a long-term journey.
Xiaomi also emphasized that it is difficult to achieve success and profit in the short term when it comes to the development of this chip.
