YouTube Tests Blocking Users Who Install Ad Blockers

YouTube is now seen testing a new method, which prevents or restricts access to users who install and use an ad blocker on the video service.

If the user installs an ad blocker on their web browser, then a pop-up notice will be displayed, thus preventing access to the user in watching or using YouTube.

YouTube through the notice gives users the option to allow ads on YouTube by deactivating the ad blocker, or subscribe to YouTube Premium to access the service without ads.

For now, it's just an experiment on YouTube, and it's unknown if it will be extended to everyone or otherwise. For those of you who want to subscribe to YouTube Premium, it is offered at a price of RM17.90 per month in Malaysia.
