Youtuber Faces 20 Years In Prison For Crashing Plane For Content

There are millions of YouTube channels and this makes it difficult to build a new channel. Various gimmicks are done for viral videos on YouTube. For the sake of popularity, Trevor Daniel Jacob, a content producer on YouTube, was willing to fake his plane crash in November last year.

After being investigated by the FAA, Jacob is now facing up to 20 years in prison and at the same time his flight license was revoked in April last year. He admitted to crashing the plane in order to produce a viral video and increase the number of followers. His efforts were successful with his 12-minute video being viewed over 3 million times.

Although Jacob pleaded guilty, sentencing has yet to be handed down with a date yet to be announced. Don't do things that violate the law for the sake of content. In Malaysia, there are more and more influencers who take "inspiration" from overseas gimmicks to become popular. It is hoped that no one is too proud to imitate Trevor Daniel Jacob's gimmick here.
