Intel has just announced new branding for their upcoming series of processor chips, and now, they have confirmed that the Intel Raptor Lake series of processor chips will come with a new update in terms of branding as well as build specifications.
Intel Raptor Lake Refresh will be part of Intel's 14th generation processor chip series, and interestingly, some of this series will still be using the Intel Core i branding, even though Intel has announced its burial.
Raptor Lake S Refresh and Raptor Lake H Refresh, a series of desktop and laptop class processing chips are seen to still use that branding, for example the Intel Core i9-14900K for the most powerful desktop class processing chip.
Intel says that the Intel Raptor Lake U Refresh series of processing chips for thin and light laptops will be the first series of processing chips to use the new "Intel Core" model name.
In terms of processor chip technology updates, this has not been confirmed yet, but it is likely that the Raptor Lake Refresh will come with more cache, and possibly faster processor speeds.
The introduction of the Raptor Lake Refresh processing chip may be a little confusing, especially when the Intel Meteor Lake processing chip is also part of the 14th generation Intel processing chip series, but this processing chip is seen to use the Intel Core Ultra model name for its models.
