Apple Expected to Change "Hey Siri" Activation Word to Just "Siri" as Early as 2024

Today, it is customary to activate the virtual assistant Siri on iPhone, iPad and Mac devices by saying "Hey Siri". It has been said before that Apple is developing a method to further simplify the word activation, and now according to a Bloomberg report, the change is expected to happen as early as 2024 or 2025 later.

Through the change, users will be able to activate Apple's virtual assistant by simply saying "Siri", followed by other voice commands.

In addition to these changes, Apple also aims to integrate voice command-based virtual assistants more deeply into third-party applications. This is expected to further expand the use of virtual assistants.

Today, Siri competes with several other services, including Amazon's Alexa, and Google's Google Assistant. With the change to calling only one word, which is "Siri", Apple needs to ensure that it really runs smoothly and is not active when different accents are used in other countries, or active when "Siti" is mentioned and so on by Malaysian users.
