WWDC is just a few days away and information about Apple's Reality Pro headset is slowly starting to trickle out. Today screen technology analyst Ross Young revealed that this AR headset will use a 1.41″ Micro OLED screen with a very high pixel density of 4000 PPI. In comparison, the 4K 6.5" screen on the Sony Xperia 1 V only has a pixel density of 643 PPI.
Young also said that Apple is aiming for a screen that can reach 5000 nits, which is also very high. Because of the specifications of these advanced components, the selling price of the first version of Reality Pro is expected to reach $3000 apiece. Apple sees augmented reality (AR) technology as the future of the company.
All attempts to popularize AR and VR have so far hit a dead end. The very first meta to offer the world of metamesta to the public is now facing the issue of lack of response from users. Like Apple, Meta will launch the Meta Quest 3 set in the near future which is reportedly lighter and thinner.
Is there still a demand for headsets by the public in a market that is now obsessed with artificial intelligence? Only time will tell.
