Apple Wants to Open 15 New Stores in Asia, Is There Indonesia?

Apple has big plans to expand its retail services in more countries. One of them is by opening 15 new stores in Asia Pacific. Is there Indonesia?

Bloomberg reports that Apple will open 15 new stores in Asia Pacific, five stores in Europe and the Middle East, and four stores in the United States and Canada.

In addition, Apple will also renovate or relocate dozens of stores in Asia, Europe, and North America. In total, Apple will open 53 new, relocated, or renovated stores through 2027.

Unfortunately, Indonesia has not been included in the Apple store expansion proposal in the near future. Apple's expansion in Asia Pacific will be focused on key countries such as India and China.

Apple will open three new stores in India, complementing the two already opened this year. In addition, the iPhone manufacturer will open seven new locations in China, two in South Korea, and two in Japan, as quoted from Bloomberg, Monday (5/6/2023).

Apple will also open its first store in Malaysia located in Kuala Lumpur which is planned to open next year. Although it has not yet opened in Indonesia, at least Apple fanboys in the country can visit this new store as an alternative from Singapore.

There are currently 520 Apple Stores in 26 countries, more than half of which are located in the United States. In addition to selling the latest Apple products, these stores also provide technical support centers, repair services, and offline classes.

Apple operates four types of retail stores, starting from indoor stores in malls, Apple Store+, flagship, and flagship+. These stores generate diverse annual income, ranging from USD 40 million for regular stores to USD 100 million for flagship+ stores.
