Apple launched the Apple Vision Pro augmented reality set a few weeks ago, and now, the company has announced that their VisionOS Software Development Kit can now be downloaded by software developers.
For those who are already familiar with developing applications and software for Apple platforms such as MacOS, iOS, iPadOS and so on, application development for VisionOS is also seen as the same as other Apple platforms.
It uses the same code base as Xcode, SwiftUI, RealityKit, ARKit and TestFlight, all of which are familiar programming platforms for Apple hardware app developers.
A new feature introduced in this operating system is the Spatial Computing window, which turns your visual space into an infinite screen. The software windows that open in this space are developed using Swift, and users can technically open as many software windows as they want, or focus on only one window that is seen to be present with additional features.
Reality Composer Pro software was also introduced to allow developers to test 3D windows, images, videos and animations within the Vision Pro headset. Meanwhile, support for the Unity graphics engine will also be introduced next month.
Apple also says more software for developers will be introduced in the near future.
