Last week, Acer introduced a number of new product series that will be shown at the COMPUTEX Taipei event taking place this week. Now, we have been given the opportunity to personally visit Acer's booth at the event, and these are among the new products they showed.
Acer Swift Edge 16
The Acer Swift Edge 16 is the latest laptop in the Acer Swift series of thin and light productivity laptops, and is one of a small group of laptops powered entirely by AMD-produced CPU and GPU components.
It houses a 16-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3.2K (3200 x 2000) and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It can also process 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and promises accurate color processing.
This Acer Swift Edge 16 is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 7 7840 processing chip option, along with a combination of AMD Radeon 780M graphics chip for gaming and creative productivity.
It is also loaded with DDR5 memory options up to 32GB and also 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage for almost unlimited storage. In terms of plug options, this laptop comes with two USB 3.2 Type-A plugs, two USB4 Type-C plugs, HDMI 2.1 and also an SD card reader. It also comes with support for WiFi 7 wireless internet technology and supports fast internet connection up to 5.8Gbps.
Weighing only 1.23kg, it also maintains the status of this laptop series as one of the lightest laptops on the market.
Predator Triton 16
The Predator Triton gaming laptop series is the most suitable choice for those who want premium gaming performance, but want a minimalist and compact finish. With the Predator Triton 16, Acer seems to want to combine all these elements with a 16-inch screen display offering as well.
This gaming laptop comes with a 16-inch framed IPS screen display at a resolution of 2560×1600 with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a brightness value of 500 nits. It is also capable of processing 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology that promises a smooth gaming experience and no screen tracking issues.
In terms of components, the Predator Triton 16 comes with a choice of 13th generation Intel processing chips up to the choice of Intel Core i9 which can be overclocked to 5.4GHz, with 32GB of DDR5 memory and 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage in a RAID-0 configuration.
The Predator Triton 16 also comes with a graphics card option up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 which is powerful enough to run any modern game at 1440p resolution at refresh rates and high settings.
If you need a laptop with many plugs, this Predator Triton 16 also comes with options such as two USB 3.2 Type-A plugs, one Thunderbolt 4 plug that can be used to charge the laptop's battery, one HDMI 2.1 plug that supports output to 4K resolution screen display and MicroSD card reader. It also has support for fast WiFi 6E wireless internet connection.
Inside this 19.9mm sized frame is a Vortex Flow cooling system that uses the 5th generation Aeroblade 3D cooling fan and also a metal liquid that helps in flowing heat from the component parts to the cooling system more efficiently.
Acer Connect Vero W6m
When it comes to Acer, products like WiFi routers are rarely mentioned, but that's the latest type of product that was shown at their booth as well. Acer has introduced the Acer Connect Vero W6m, their first WiFi 6E router that is also seen using the Vero brand that uses PCR (Post Consumer Recyclable) materials in its frame.
It supports WiFi 6E Tri-band AXE7800 technology which supports three wireless frequencies, including 2.4GHz, 5.0GHz and 6.0GHz and has a local data transmission speed as fast as 7.8Gbps. The hardware is powered by a MediaTek A53 processor chip with two cores at 2GHz, 1GB of built-in memory and 4GB of built-in storage.
Even more interesting, you can also connect this WiFi router with other units to further extend the radius of the WiFi connection area with one or three additional units, up to 930m².
30 percent of the Acer Connect Vero W6m router frame also uses the PCR material mentioned before, where the bundle also uses 100 percent recycled material.
Closing
At the COMPUTEX Taipei 2023 event, it can be shown that Acer does not focus on just one type of product, but is seen to offer something for the public, regardless of whether it is a productivity or gaming class laptop, in fact, it can be said that the products which is not expected is also shown in their court.
