Driving While Putting Your Phone On Your Lap Can Be Sued Up To RM1000

Through TheStar's report, it is seen that driving while putting the phone on the lap can make the driver be sued up to RM1000. This is because it is dangerous, since the driver will take his eyes off the road for a few seconds in checking the road on the device.

Instead, drivers are asked to use the device holder on the car to keep their eyes on the road.

In addition to putting it on your lap, drivers are also advised not to use their phones when stopping at red traffic lights. This will also interfere with driving, and make traffic sometimes interrupted when the user is not aware of the change of traffic lights or the situation on the road.

As many are aware, anyone found guilty of using a device while driving will have to appear in court – leading to a fine of up to RM1000 or imprisonment of up to 3 months for the first offence.
