Ducky is a well-known brand for their mechanical keyboard offerings that come in a variety of sizes and attractive designs. Recently, the brand is seen wanting to enter the custom keyboard arena with their latest product.
Named Project D Outlaw, this keyboard comes with a 65% design and will come as a basic keyboard kit which includes a keyboard frame, circuit board, circuit plate and a number of accessories such as sponges that will help in reducing vibrations and unpleasant sounds inside keyboard.
The keyboard frame is made of aluminum blocks and will come with a number of plate options developed with different materials such as FR4, polycarbonate, POM and even iron. All of these plates will be given to users, in fact, they will also be supplied with a kit to develop their own keyboard, which includes screwdrivers, brushes, lubricants and even key pullers.
With this Project D Outlaw offering, users are given the option to build and choose their dream keyboard configuration while learning what makes custom keyboards the craze of today.
A Ducky spokesperson told us that the Project D Outlaw keyboard will go on sale around the third or fourth quarter of this year for $299 to $399. Although they say that it will only be offered as a basic kit, the first 500 units sold will be offered along with a set of keys and also an as-yet-unspecified mechanical switch.
