The technology war can be seen every day since 2019 after Huawei was included in the list of entities by the United States. It later spread to the United States' allies who agreed that the use of Huawei equipment on telecommunications infrastructure was risky. But now the European Union (EU) wants the use of 5G equipment to be banned in all member countries.
In addition to Huawei equipment, telecommunication equipment from other risky companies will also be banned. In Europe, countries such as France and Italy have already banned 5G equipment from Huawei. Meanwhile Germany did the opposite by ignoring the warning of their ally the United States.
In Malaysia, the government will not prevent telecommunications companies from using the second 5G equipment that will be operational next year. The government just won't sign an agreement with this big Chinese telecommunications company in the future.
