Microsoft's dream of taking over Activision Blizzard is now facing another hurdle after the FTC filed a temporary injunction against them. This is the second hurdle faced by them after the one in the United Kingdom by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
The purchase announcement was made in January 2022 at a value of nearly $70 billion that would make Microsoft one of the world's largest video game publishers. Various objections from other companies such as Sony were received due to concerns that popular series such as Call of Duty, Diablo and Starcraft will be the exclusive rights of Microsoft's platform in the future which is seen as a move to monopolize the market.
Microsoft has already offered Sony a deal to support Call of Duty on PlayStation for 10 years. Nintendo has already agreed with Microsoft for the same. But there are still doubts about the offering on the Microsoft platform, it is better to put other consoles at a disadvantage.
