Apple introduced their Apple M silicon chip for two years now which shows much more powerful and efficient computing performance compared to other brands, making MacOS computers the first choice for productivity purposes.
But until now, gaming performance has been the main drawback of these devices, especially since game developers rarely develop computer games for this platform. Despite that, Apple has just introduced a new software called Game Porting Toolkit during the WWDC event last week which allows more games on the Windows platform to be played on MacOS.
Recently, the performance of the Game Porting Toolkit software has been shown, and it is quite surprising. @isaacmarovitz on Twitter has shown how Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most powerful games ever launched can be played on Ultra settings on a Macbook Pro M1 with 16GB of memory at a refresh rate of 14FPS. Another test showed the same game running at a 40FPS refresh rate with the same settings on a Mac device using an M2 Max processing chip.
In fact, games such as Diablo IV and Hogwarts Legacy were also tested on Apple M1 Max and Apple M2 processing chips and could be run at high settings without any problems, also at high refresh rates as all Macbook device displays tested have refresh the maximum.
