Various companies are optimizing operations to be more efficient. Because of that, various companies began to reduce employees at their respective companies, and integrate operations between business divisions.
Most recently, Google reportedly reduced the workforce at the Waze mapping service. For now, Google is downsizing the advertising department at Waze – and will be transitioning the Waze advertising system to use the existing Google Ads advertising system.
With this move, Google is expected to integrate part of the Waze operation with the existing Google Maps team. For now, it is not shared how many jobs will be terminated in parallel with this integration.
