Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to be launched next September. The chip to be used is said to be Tensor G3. It is expected to offer a big change in performance compared to the Tensor G2 in the Pixel 7. However, 9to5Google reports that this chip's performance may be lower than competitors using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and the Dimensity 9200+.
According to sources, Tensor G3 will once again focus on artificial intelligence, video processing and others to ensure that the software can provide the best user experience. Google has previously stated that their built-in processing chips do not keep up with benchmark scores.
I have tried Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro which admittedly the overall performance is not as good as OnePlus or Samsung. However, the ability of stock Android software with Google's "magical" features will definitely make users feel comfortable using it.
How about a chip that focuses on software and not the actual performance of the device?
