Various technology companies this year have seen a number of workforce reductions, due to the current economic situation and the impact on the overall industry. Apparently, Grab has not been left behind, and today announced that they have reduced a total of 1000 workers at the company.
Grab stated that this step was taken in restructuring the company, so that it can move faster, in addition to optimizing the use of resources for a long-term strategy.
This reduction of 1000 people is expected to involve almost 11% of the company's workforce. The reduction of employees this time is also seen to be the largest ever done by Grab, compared to before which was only in the hundreds during the previous pandemic.
