Huawei Denies Reports They Will Use Qualcomm's 5G Modems

Today there are reports that Huawei devices will finally return to support 5G networks through chips produced by Qualcomm. But Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business was quick to deny these rumours. So for the near future Huawei devices will continue to support 4G networks only.

Since the imposition of technology restrictions by the United States, Huawei has been prevented from offering devices with 5G modems even on its own Kirin chips. There have been several reports before that Huawei will return to offering 5G devices at the end of this year through its own technology but no detailed information about it is known so far.

In Malaysia the absence of 5G may not be 100% negative considering that the support of this network in Malaysia is still not very widespread and there are telecommunications companies that do not offer it yet.
