Currently, the most widely used pay television broadcast service in Malaysia is Astro. Realizing the very low level of competition, now paid television services from Indonesia, MNC Vision stated that it will enter the local market as early as this year.
For the Malaysian market, MNC Vision collaborates with Ansat Broadcasting. This paid broadcast service will use IPTV technology in offering their services for the local market.
MNC Vision has around 11.5 million customers in Indonesia covering various services under their group of companies. In addition to pay TV broadcast services, MNC also provides services such as broadband and internet for the Indonesian market.
According to the company, the model's expenses may be small to almost nothing because it will take advantage of the satellite coverage used by its broadcasts.
For now, no date has been given yet for the launch of this broadcasting service in Malaysia.
