At the Meta internal meeting held by Mark Zuckerberg, he touched on several things, where apart from artificial intelligence, Mark also touched on the mixed reality set announced by Apple recently, which is Apple Vision Pro.
Mark Zuckerberg stated that through what was shown, there were no innovations or new solutions brought by Apple - other than what was already explored by Meta.
At the same time, the vision and value that Apple brings through their headset is different from what Meta wants. Mark Zuckerberg also briefly touched on how Meta wants people to interact, socialize and feel close through its use. Meta also wants an active style and doing things through their headset.
On the other hand, Mark Zuckerberg said demos for Apple are seen more as people just sitting alone. Mark Zuckerberg also added that it may be a vision for the future of computing, but not what Meta wants.
Most recently, Meta has already announced the Quest 3 which costs around $499, which is many times cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro which is listed at a price of $3499 (~RM16000).
With this latest development, it should be interesting how both parties – Meta and Apple, position their products and get their respective market share.
