The webcam on the Microsoft Surface Pro X that stopped working was reported by some users on May 23 after the device was updated. After the complaints received increased, Microsoft offered a temporary update to resolve the issue.
This temporary update simply re-enables the camera on this tablet computer but sacrifices some features and also lowers image quality. The actual solution will be given at a time that has not yet been determined.
Another temporary solution that owners can take is to restore the Surface Pro X software version before the latest update. According to Microsoft the issue is caused by Qualcomm driver software that is not compatible with the latest version of Windows.
