Microsoft Will End Cortana Support On Windows

Microsoft has now announced that it will end the separate application of Cortana on Windows, by the end of 2023. This step was taken by Microsoft to replace the various integrations of artificial intelligence that Microsoft has already done on Windows and also the Edge web browser.

Microsoft says Cortana as a separate application will be discontinued, but can still be used together in Outlook, as well as Microsoft Teams.

Instead, Microsoft suggests the use of a number of other alternative features, including Windows Copilot which will be offered in trial form on Windows 11, in addition to artificial intelligence features on Bing and Microsoft Edge.

Previously, Cortana was introduced on Windows in 2015, allowing users to do a number of things through voice commands. However, the popularity of Cortana can be said to be still low, and it is not as widely used as ChatGPT integration on Bing and Edge.
