Midjourney Introduces a "Zoom Out" Feature to Generate Wider Pictures of the Scenery

Midjourney was updated to version 5.2 yesterday with some new feature additions. One of the new features introduced is Zoom Out which allows more elements to be generated outside the frame of the original previously generated image. It is similar to the Outpainting feature that DALL.E 2 gave users last year.

Midjourney allows users to zoom out between 1x and 2x values only. Also introduced is the Make Square feature that will change the size of the generated picture frame to a square. Currently all of these new features can only be used on images generated from within Midjourney. Unlike the Generative Fill feature on Photoshop Beta that can generate additional images on any photo.

Another feature introduced is "high variation mode" which adds variation to the image generated by Midjourney. The “–stylize” command can also be used in prom on images that are not generated to look realistic. Use the command “stylize 1000” to generate an unrealistic image and “--stylize 1″ to make it look more realistic. Midjourney users can enter any number between 1-1000 for this command.

Finally there is the command “/shorten” which makes it easier to edit the prom. For those who are more comfortable with the previous version, they can revert to Version 5.1 by using the “/settings” command.
