The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) is now sharing that they are collaborating with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in developing the Artificial Intelligence Code of Ethics (AI Code of Ethics). This development also involved representatives from government agencies and several higher education institutions.
This code of ethics is said to be closely related to the principles outlined in the National Artificial Intelligence Roadmap 2021-2025. It also covers equality, reliability and control, privacy and security, inclusiveness, transparency, accountability and also human happiness.
This code of ethics was developed to reduce risks and negative effects in the use of artificial intelligence technology, in addition to increasing the reliability in using this artificial intelligence technology.
In addition to this, ASEAN member countries are also reported to be drafting artificial intelligence governance and ethics guidelines.
