Twitter hired NBCUniversal executive Joe Benarroch to manage the company's business operations. It joins CEO Linda Yaccarino who previously also worked at NBCUniversal.
Benarroch will start working at Twitter on Monday (5/6) today and will be based at Twitter's headquarters in New York. It is not known what position he holds, but in a memo to his colleagues this bespectacled man said his role would focus on business operations.
"I can't wait to bring my experience to Twitter, and work with the whole team to develop Twitter 2.0 together," said Benarroch in his memo, as quoted from the BBC, Monday (5/6/2023).
Bennaroch previously held the position of Vice President for Communications, Advertising, and Partnership at NBCUniversal as a subordinate of Yaccarino who was the former Head of Advertising at NBCUniversal. At the beginning of his career he also worked at Facebook.
Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter immediately welcomed the arrival of Benarroch. Yaccarino himself was appointed as the new CEO of Twitter less than a month ago.
"Welcome to the flock of birds @benarroch_joe! From one bird to the next," Yaccarino tweeted.
Benarroch's arrival on Twitter only a few days after Elon Musk's social media platform was abandoned by two of its top executives. One of them is Head of Trust and Safety Ella Irwin who is in charge of leading the content moderation team.
It is not yet known why Irwin left Twitter. But the news of Irwin's withdrawal was revealed a day after Musk blamed the content moderation team regarding the distribution of the documentary film 'What is a Woman'.
