Oppo Find X6 Pro – This Is Our Experience Testing The Capabilities Of The Camera System On The Device

There is no doubt that advances in technology have led to the production of various increasingly sophisticated smartphones. It can cover many things and one of them is the support of a unique and future-oriented mobile imaging technology system.

Speaking of which, Oppo is one of the manufacturers that focuses on the element of exploring new ideas for camera technology on devices rather than exploiting past successes. Various efforts have been taken for that purpose which also involves large investments in research and development of imaging technology.

Device Production Ideas

This commitment continues this year by making smartphone imaging technology their main development strategy. Through it, Oppo will focus on improving the photographic performance at long-distance focus that makes it easier for users. So this is the starting point of the idea for the production of the new flagship device Oppo Find X6 Pro.

Accordingly, we have been invited to the Oppo Virtality Imaging Tour event which took place in Bali, Indonesia on 26 to 28 June 2023. In this event we were given the opportunity to see for ourselves all forms of technology included in the Oppo Find X6 Pro camera system.

The same event was also attended by several professional photographers from several countries to share experiences, tips and ideas to produce beautiful and aesthetic photos. But before talking more about the interesting features and functions of the device, it would be good if we first share in detail every detail of the camera system used.

Oppo Find X6 Pro has impressive camera hardware. It uses a tri-camera on the back with a 50MP 1″ main camera setup (Sony IMX989 sensor, OIS). Then supported with 50MP Sony IMX890, OIS for ultra wide and macro with a focal distance of 4cm.

The third camera is a 50MP telephoto periscope (Sony IMX890) with 3X optical zoom and up to 120X digital zoom. The experience is further enhanced with the Hasselblad camera system, as well as the MariSilicon X chip to improve photo and video quality.

Here we share the interesting photography functions available on the Find X6 Pro:

1 – Tri-camera 50MP

Personally, the camera seems to be able to take pictures well in most conditions, whether it's bright or dark. It can also be seen, consistent color matching and pretty good detail can also be found through some of the attached photos. Similarly, the results of ultra-wide images are still good, which then the sensor can also be used for macro shots.

For distant objects, the 50MP telephoto camera provides 3X optical zoom, 6X hybrid and digital zoom up to 120Hz. A good zoom recommendation is only up to 30X, the rest is less than satisfactory with blurry and noisy images. Not only that, the viewfinder display also started to look wobbly, making it difficult to frame without the use of a tripod.

2 – Portrait Mode

The Oppo Find X6 Pro camera can also take a portrait mode with three zoom level options, either 1X, 2X or 3X. The result is satisfactory with good color matching and minimal noise. Not only that, the bokeh effect also looks natural.

3 – 4K Dolby Vision video

There is also no 8K support instead the video recording format is supported only 4K/60FPS with built-in stabilization. Another advantage can also be found when the device also supports Dolby Vision video recording. It is however only limited to 4K/30fps settings with a zoom option that can reach 6X.

With Dolby Vision recording, videos with vivid colors and better contrast matching can be produced. Not only that, the production of black will also be truly black. In addition there are also details that are improved directly in making the image clearer.

4 – Ultra-Steady Mode

We tested this mode by shooting video in extremely shaky conditions. If I'm not mistaken, this time on the way down from Gunung Payung Beach by lorry. But we found that the video recording looks good. Why? Because the Find X6 Pro camera has the Ultra Steady Video feature that has existed since the Reno2 device. But we must also mention that this feature only supports recording mode up to 1080P/30fps only. Later this was also added to the selfie camera for the purpose of making video content easier.

5) X Pan Mode

It's a photography mode featured by Oppo and Hasselblad since the Oppo Find X5 Pro. We can classify it as something unique because it allows the reproduction of Hasselblad-style photography in a smartphone. The picture taken shows a wide ratio for an interesting creative work. Other photography features that are also included on the device include Night Mode, Panorama, Movie, Slo-Mo, Time Lapse, Long Exposure, Dual-View Video, Sticker, AI ID Photo and Text Scanner.

But you need to know that Oppo has no plans to bring in any Find X6 device to the global market, including in Malaysia. This is because Oppo takes a more focused approach on the foldable device segment, to provide a better experience to global users. Therefore, Oppo has decided to focus positive efforts to further strengthen the segment. At the same time ensuring that the target user gets the benefits he deserves.

However, Oppo has another surprise when it plans to present a new device under the Reno series. He said the phone also has a camera system with features almost similar to the Find X6 Pro. Let's all look forward to its official launch on July 6 to see more about its offerings, including the official selling price.
