Redmi 12 Now Official With 90Hz Screen And MediaTek Helio G88 Chip

edmi 12 is finally officially launched starting in Thailand. It is a mid-spec 4G device that highlights some key features such as a screen with a high refresh rate, a large capacity battery and a 50MP camera.



To be more specific, the Redmi 12 uses a 6.79″ FHD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. This is also combined with a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and a brightness level of 550nits for a better viewing experience.



The MediaTek Helio G88 chip is used as the mainstay of the device, in addition to memory options of up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB LPDDR4X internal storage. A 5,000mAh battery is also used that supports 18W wired charging through a USB-C port connection.


Also included is a tri-camera system of 50MP (main) + 8MP (ultra wide) + 2MP (macro), while the selfie camera is 8MP. The ability to record up to 1080P/30fps which can be done through both cameras.



Other supported specifications include side fingerprint scanner, face scan system, NFC, bluetooth 5.2 connection, 3.5mm audio jack, running MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and passing IP53 waterproof rating.



The device is sold at TBH 5,299 (~RM705) for the (8GB/128GB) variant. Meanwhile, two other variations such as 4GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB have not been revealed for the time being. The device is also expected to enter the Malaysian market since it was found to have been listed on SIRIM Malaysia's website since May 19.
