The foldable-screen device is already in its fifth year of existence. Samsung is the biggest holder of this segment with its flagship devices Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 to be launched at the end of July. Samsung Malaysia will also organize a Developer Day Hackathon on 14-15 June at REXKL to find the most creative ideas for using foldable screen devices among students.
This event is organized together with Taylor's University and Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR). Teams of four individuals have to share their most creative ideas to use Samsung's Fold and Flip type device screens. Prizes of up to RM39,188 per day will be awarded to the team that successfully proposes the most brilliant idea.
The Developer Day Hackathon is part of Samsung Malaysia's efforts to popularize the use of foldable screen devices. A few weeks ago some local apps such as Grab, Ambank, Maxis and ZUS Coffee were launched with better support on foldable screen devices.
