Sony WF-1000XM5 has been leaked before with a design that is said to be more compact than the previous generation. This means, it can also come with a lighter body and the existence of new rumors seems to justify this.
Looking at the shared screenshot, the WF-1000XM5 weighs around 5.9 grams per earbud, which is 1.4 grams lighter than the previous WF-1000XM4. It then increases to 39 grams with the charging pod, but is still lighter than the WF-1000XM4's 41 grams. This means, we can see quite a significant difference in size can happen after it is officially launched later.
The battery life of up to 24 hours is still the same as the WF-1000XM4, but it is seen to receive an improvement in terms of recharging. Where, a 3-minute charge allows for up to 1 hour of playback time. This is an improvement over the previous XM-100XM4 which required 15 minutes of charging for an hour of use.
