Telekom Malaysia today announced that it has signed an agreement with Maxis, through which Maxis will offer 2G and 4G roaming services, as well as 4G MOCN (Multi Operator Core Network) services. With this step, it is expected to further strengthen the connection when using the Unifi Mobile service under TM.
With this move, it is expected to enable Unifi Mobile coverage to reach 95% of populated areas for the 4G network.
Under this agreement, Maxis will offer a 3-year service to TM, with the option to extend it upon mutual agreement.
Previously, the government through SKMM has encouraged cooperation between telecommunication companies in sharing and domestic roaming - at the same time overcoming the problem of network congestion in various areas throughout the country.
