Previously we reported that Toyota was testing an electric vehicle (EV) with a manual transmission. through their luxury brand Lexus This rather radical step was taken by Toyota after receiving input from EV users who said the enjoyment of driving is reduced because they simply press the power pedal without hand involvement like using a manual gear knob.
Prototypes have been tested and now Takero Kato who is the president of Toyota's BEV car division says a manual system for EV cars will arrive around 2026. It will be done simultaneously with the introduction of their new battery pack. With this system, Toyota hopes that the "wow" factor can be given to their vehicles compared to other EV vehicles.
