Two Megauplod Programmers Sentenced to Prison

Two programmers at the once popular file sharing service, Megaupload, have now been sentenced to prison by a New Zealand court. This sentence was handed down after the two pleaded guilty, and promised to testify against the founder of Megaupload, Kim Dotcom.

The two programmers were sentenced to two years and 7 months and two months and 6 months respectively.

Previously, Megaupload was alleged to have brought high losses to the film industry and recording studios, worth millions of ringgit. The founder of Megaupload pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Megaupload was previously shut down in 2012 due to an order from the authorities, and since then Kim Dotcom has also come up with a new file storage service, called Mega.
