visionOS Is The Name Of The Operating System For Apple Headsets

Apple today has already officially introduced their first headset named Vision Pro, expected to be marketed in 2024 at a price of RM16,000. Also shared at launch is the operating system for it, named as visionOS.

Previously, many speculated it would be called realityOS, but Apple chose the name visionOS for their mixed-reality operating system. Apple says this operating system is optimized for spatial computing.

It combines the real and virtual worlds, allowing developers to develop applications in the form of digital elements on top of the real world. The control method is also brand new, including one of which is to move the finger in the form of "pinching".

Like other Apple operating system offerings, visionOS will also have an app store to enable apps developed for Vision Pro. In addition, a number of optimized iPhone and iPad applications can also be used on Vision Pro.

With the introduction of this new operating system, developers will now race to develop their respective applications, opening the door to brand new innovation.
