Through Leica's 50MP quad-camera support, we can already know that the main focus on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is certainly on a good imaging system. Strengthening this statement when they also use the tagline Capture The Moment in promoting this device.
Sharing further, DXOMark has published a full report on the camera performance of this device. Xiaomi 13 Ultra ranks 14th in the global chart with a total score of 140 points. This puts its camera capabilities on par with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Snapdragon) and the Vivo X90 Pro+.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra scored a total of 138 points for photography capabilities. Next, 65 points for bokeh, 72 points for preview, 147 points for zoom capabilities and 137 points involving video recording.
Praise goes to the device's camera's ability to produce consistent image quality in most conditions including zoom. The white balance system is said to be consistent, while also being able to produce photos and videos that look natural. This device is also praised for having a wide dynamic range in photos and the video autofocus system is quite smooth.
Criticism was also given to the time lag problem that occurs when the shutter button is pressed. Next, color reproduction is also saturated for outdoor shots. The white balance system on the video is not satisfactory, meanwhile exposure problems also occur in some situations. Not only that, the portrait function is also said to fail to function properly.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been confirmed to be coming to the Malaysian market and more details will be shared on June 20. We will also test the capabilities of the device's camera to see for ourselves the actual performance if given the opportunity.
