Apple has extended a license to use technology patented by Nokia. The previously signed license will expire at the end of 2023. Both companies, however, did not disclose the fees charged and the period of use of this new license.
Licensing involves cellular patents and other technologies held by Nokia. Currently Nokia holds over 20,000 patents with 5500 of them related to 5G technology. The use of this license is the reason why Realme, Vivo and Oppo withdrew from the German market for not paying for the license to use Nokia's 5G technology.
