Apple has now through an interview, been quoted as saying they will not bid for the EPL (English Premier League) streaming rights unless it is a global broadcast right. This is because Apple has users all over the world, and is not interested in getting broadcast rights covering only a few countries. Apple itself emphasizes that they are a global company.
Apple is seen as more interested in collaborations such as Major League Soccer broadcast rights on Apple TV+, which offers global broadcast rights. With this move, Apple says it's worth their investment in terms of broadcast rights and technology, and is enjoyed by their users around the world.
Commenting further, Apple is quoted as saying they will not rule out anything. However, they will not sign a partnership with any league for the broadcast of a specific country only.
