Last week, we reported that the electric vehicle brand from China, BYD will bring the BYD Dolphin to the local market, and the interest registration page has been opened.
Today, the BYD Dolphin has been officially launched for the local market, and the company has confirmed that they will be bringing in Standard Range and Premium Extended Range models.
BYD Dolphin Standard Range comes with a motor that has a torque of 180Nm and can accelerate from 0-100KM/J in 12.3 seconds. The BYD Dolphin Extended Range comes with a motor that has a torque of 350Nm and can accelerate from 0-100KM/J in just seven seconds.
The BYD Dolphin Standard Range comes with a 44.9kWh battery and has a WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) range of 340KM, while the Extended Range model has a battery capacity of 60.48kWh and a WLTP range of 427KM.
Both BYD Dolphin models also support 7kW AC charging basically which can charge this vehicle from empty to full in around 7-8 hours, but the Standard Range model supports 60kW DC charging, while the Extended Range model supports a faster 80kW DC charging, with the ability to charge this vehicle's battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in about 33 minutes.
The price tag for the BYD Dolphin Standard Range is set at RM99,900, while the Premium Extended Range model is priced at RM124,900 before taxes and surcharges. If you are interested in seeing and testing this affordable all-electric vehicle, you can register on this website.
