Government Plans To Install Starlink In Higher Education Centers – Internet Via Satellite

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has now announced plans to acquire around 40 Starlink devices provided by Elon Musk's company, and install them for use in higher education institutions.

This plan was discussed together during a meeting with Elon Musk recently. Starlink is a service under SpaceX, which allows internet to be transmitted through satellites, making it easier for users to use internet services even in rural areas.

Starlink is also expected to be used for internet services in rural and rural areas where it is difficult to get internet access. The participation of Starlink is expected to further increase the rate of internet coverage in the country.

So far, Starlink is still not officially offered in Malaysia, although its official website states that it will be available in the second quarter of 2023 (which has now entered the third quarter). The price of the local offering is also still unknown for now.

An alternative to Starlink in Malaysia is a service such as ConnectMe that offers internet access via satellite beam at speeds of up to 100Mbps. For now, ConnectMe is ready to be used in rural areas in Malaysia.
