Starting today, July 1, 2023, the Secure2U feature is transferred to the MAE application, requiring all Maybank online banking service users to have the MAE application in order to verify a transaction.
Previously, Maybank offered this feature through the M2U MY and MAE applications. However, through this change, only the MAE application includes the Secure2U authentication feature.
This move comes from Maybank after ending the SMS-based OTP feature this week. Maybank stated that this transitional step is to continue to improve banking security, in line with the direction of Bank Negara Malaysia in combating various financial frauds.
For those of you who use Maybank, you can download MAE to ensure your banking continues to run smoothly. For new users who activate Secure2U on MAE, the activation period will take 12 hours.
The MAE application can be downloaded through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery.
