Maybank has now announced that they have completely switched to the Secure2U system, replacing the use of SMS-based OTP for transaction verification. With this transition, Maybank will no longer use an SMS-based system.
Secure2U is tied to one device for each account, thereby reducing the probability of transaction fraud. This move is also in line with Bank Negara Malaysia's previous instructions.
At the same time, Maybank also reminded that all Secure2U verification will be transferred to the MAE application effective July 1, 2023, and will no longer be offered through the Maybank2U application.
