Mediatek now comes with a new mid-range 5G processing chip option known as the Dimensity 6100+. It is built with 6nm technology that combines two Arm Cortex-A76 cores at a speed of up to 2.2GHz and six Arm Cortex-A55 cores at a speed of 2.0GHz.
This chip also uses an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with a speed of up to 2133MHz and a HyperEngine 3.0 system that is said to be able to improve the performance of the first graphics. In addition, memory support is up to LPDDR4x and internal storage is based on UFS 2.2.
As a chip ready to support 5G, Dimensity 6100+ also has support for sub-6Ghz bands with download speeds of up to 3.3Gbps through the aggregation of two cellular networks. This allows the chip to offer 40% better speed in urban areas and 30% in suburban areas compared to comparable competitors.
In the meantime, this chip also offers screen capabilities with a maximum resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels with 10-bit color support and a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera system support is up to 108MP for one module or dual-camera is limited to 16MP + 16MP with the ability to record a maximum of 2K 30FPS video.
The first device with the Dimensity 6100+ chip is expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2023.
