Meta previously announced the offer of Meta Verified, which will add a blue smear mark next to the name, as well as reassuring users in interacting. Now, the feature has been gradually introduced to local users – possibly in the testing phase.
In addition to the blue smear mark, Meta also promises additional protection from fake accounts, in addition to receiving a number of exclusive stickers for use on Instagram Stories and Reels. Live help support is also available to Meta Verified customers in case of any account related issues.
To subscribe, in addition to paying RM41.99 per month, users also need to provide a government identity card (MyKad) to be scanned for verification purposes.
From our own testing, the Meta Verified subscription offers a direct blue smear on Instagram and even Threads. Currently, support for Facebook is not available and may be expanded when it is widely offered. Meta states users need to subscribe to Meta Verified separately for Facebook and Instagram.
In Malaysia, Meta Verified has now been offered to some users at a subscription price of RM41.99 per month through the Instagram application on Android or iOS. Web subscription prices are still unknown.
