Previously we reported that the interest page for the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 gaming screen has been opened, and will start selling in the local market at the end of July.
Recently, we can confirm that Sun Cycle, the official distributor of Samsung Odyssey screens in Malaysia will bring in two models of these gaming screens at the end of this month.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is equipped with a 49-inch QHD screen with a 32:9 ratio and 1800R curvature. The panel is from the quantum dot OLED family with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. Although it is a gaming monitor, it also doubles as a smart monitor with the Tizen OS operating system.
This means that applications such as Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video can be downloaded and used without the OLED G9 being connected to a PC. It also comes with a Samsung Gaming Hub that allows direct access to Xbox and NVIDIA GeForce Now video streaming services.
The two models that will be brought to the local market are the models that come with the built-in Tizen operating system, and the other one that will not be loaded with the operating system. We were told by Sun Cycle that the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 screen display will come with the following price tags:
Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (with Tizen operating system) – RM9999
Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (without Tizen operating system) – RM9499
