Samsung Plans To Come With 2nm Chip As Early As 2025

Samsung Electronics is now sharing plans in chip and semiconductor production, targeting the production of processing chips with a 2-nanometer build in 2025. The production of these chips will begin with a focus on mobile device use first in 2025, and continue to high-power computing in 2026 and for automotive in 2027.

With a 2-nanometer build, it is expected to offer a more powerful chip and at the same time efficient in terms of energy consumption.

Today, the Snapdragon chip in the Galaxy S23 phone comes with a 4-nanometer build, while Apple uses a 5nm build chip in the latest iPhone. With this new plan, we may see 2nm build chips in mobile devices around 2025 or 2026.

Moving forward, Samsung plans to produce 1.4-nanometer chips by 2027.
