Samsung Produces First GDDR7 Memory With 32Gbps Speed

Samsung announced the success of developing the industry's first GDDR7 memory. It is capable of reaching speeds of 32 Gbps which is faster than 24Gbps on GDDR6 memory.

In addition to higher memory speeds, Samsung's GDDR7 chip also reduces energy consumption by up to 20% compared to previous generations of memory. They will also offer lower voltage memory for devices such as laptops that want to further reduce energy consumption.

This is done through the use of a new epoxy molding compound that has better thermal conductivity with thermal resistance reduced by up to 70%. Samsung's GDDR7 memory will begin to be released starting in 2024.
