Screen Translator Introduced To Help Tourists In Japan

Japan is currently showing a very sharp increase in tourist arrivals since the country reopened to the world. On average, many tourists from foreign countries who arrive in the country do not speak Japanese, and to help the tourists and also the workers especially at the train stations.

Most recently, a translator screen display will be introduced at the Seibu train station in Shinjuku starting July 10, where tourists can talk to staff at the train station through this screen, and it will display language translations in real time.

The attendants can also speak Japanese, and this screen will then translate their speech into the language chosen by the tourist. There are 24 languages supported by this translator screen including English, Chinese, Indonesian, Korean, French, Spanish and others.

It is also expected that other Seibu flow stations will use this technology in the future.
