The smartphone market continues its shrinking trend in Q2 2023 according to Canalys' latest report. In the second quarter of 2023, the market contracted 11% compared to the same quarter of 2022. In Q1 2023, the market contracted 12% compared to the same quarter of 2022.
After the pandemic the smartphone market has yet to show that it will recover. With the influence of the economy that has not yet recovered and device prices that are still expensive contribute to the decline in smartphone production in 2023.

Samsung still holds the largest percentage with 21% followed by Apple (17%), Xiaomi (13%), Oppo (10%) and Vivo (8%). The gap between the two biggest producers is narrowing.
