Smuggler Caught Trying to Bring 420 Pieces of M.2 SSD Storage into China

The case of smuggling computer components into China is not something new. Previously it has been reported that components such as processing chips and smart devices have tried to be smuggled into the country.

Recently, it has been reported that a smuggler tried to smuggle in a large amount of M.2 SSD storage by attaching 420 pieces of storage around his body, but the attempt was thwarted by Chinese customs officials.

HKEPC reported that the individual tried to smuggle this M.2 SSD storage, estimated to be worth around $32,984 (RM154 thousand) from Macau to Zhuhai via Gongbei Port, which is also said to be one of the routes often used for the purpose of smuggling certain products .

The smuggling syndicate of electronic components and equipment is a big industry in China especially because it is now quite difficult to get new components in the country. It is expected that this will continue, and we will continue to see creative ways people will try to smuggle products into the country.
