Sony today shared that it has sold over 40 million units of the PlayStation 5 console since its launch. This console was introduced at the end of 2020, but at the beginning of the introduction, it was limited and difficult to find many - due to the production factor affected due to Covid. However, after several years, now the console has become easier for many to buy.
After almost 3 years since its launch, PlayStation 5 has now sold 40 million units. It is not yet known whether Sony will succeed in surpassing the PlayStation 4 record or otherwise. For information, it took less than 6 years for the PlayStation 4 to sell 100 million units globally.
Previously, Sony had shared last January 2023, saying they had recorded the figure of 30 million console units sold. With this trend, we may see Sony reach the figure of 50 million PlayStation 5 console units sold by the end of this year.
In Malaysia, the PlayStation 5 digital edition is offered at a price of RM2069, while the Ultra HD version of the PlayStation 5 is offered at a price of RM2499.
